Odisha increases quota for differently able in govt jobs

Odisha AssemblyBhubaneswar: In an effort to increase the share of the differently-abled in public service, the Odisha Government on Monday approved a proposal to increase reservations for the category to 4% from the existing 3%.

As part of the effort to accommodate more women from the differently-able category, !% out of the 4% quota for the category would be reserved for women, an official release issued by the state government yesterday said.

Among the slew of measures taken by the Odisha Government for the benefit of the differently-able in the state are reservation in educational institutions, grant of financial aid and setting up of special schools, the release pointed out.
