Odisha hikes contractual medical college teachers’ salary

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Tuesday hiked the remuneration of the contractual professors, associate professors and assistant professors appointed in the government-run medical colleges of the state.

A release, which was approved by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, said that the contractual professors who used to get Rs 90,000 salary per month will now get Rs 1,25,000.

Similarly, the associate professors and assistant professors who were earlier getting a monthly salary of Rs 75,000 and Rs 60,000, respectively will henceforth will draw Rs 100000 and Rs 75,000, respectively.

The hike will come into effect from January 1, this year. The salaries will be increased by 3 percent annually if their work is found satisfactory, added the release.
