Odisha heatwave: 11 places record temperature above 40 degrees Celcius

Bhubaneswar: As many as 11 places of Odisha recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celcius, informed the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the information provided by the IMD, Sonepur was the highest at 42.3 degrees

With 42.3 degrees Celcius temperature, Sonepur reported the highest temperature of the day. This was followed by Balangir which sizzled at 42.2 degrees.

Two other places Baripada and Titilagarh witnessed a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celcius.

Likewise, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Boudh recorded temperatures above 41 degrees Celcius. While the mercury in Jharsuguda and Sambalpur rose to 41.8 and 41.7 degrees Celcius respectively, residents of Boudh went through the blistering heatwave of 41.5 degrees Celcius.

Angul boiled at 40.9 degrees Celcius today.
