Odisha Heat Wave: IMD Issues Yellow Warning For 8 Districts

Bhubaneswar: Amid heat wave conditions wreaking havoc in the state, the regional centre of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for 8 districts of Odisha.

The Yellow warning has been issued for Bargarh, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Sonepur, Balangir, Nabarangpur, Deogarh and Jharsuguda. The regional MeT department also forecasted that heat wave conditions will prevail for the next three days in most parts of the state.

The day temperature has crossed the 40 degree Celsius mark at 11 places in Odisha with Titlagarh recording the highest of 44.5 degree Celsius, closely followed by Sambalpur (44.4), Balangir (44), Sonepur (44), Hirakud (43.3), Jharsuguda (43), Bhawanipatna (43), Angul (42.1) and Talcher (42.1).

Moreover, the MeT department has also predicted light rain and thundershower for Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Mayurbhanj districts for the next 2-3 days.
