Odisha heat wave condition: 7 places record 40 Degrees Celsius or above

Bhubaneswar: A total of seven places of Odisha reported the maximum day temperature of 40 degrees Celsius or above on Sunday.

According to the city-based Meteorological Centre, Sambalpur turned out to be the hottest place in the state with 40.8 degrees Celsius. It was followed by Boudh (40.5 degrees Celsius).

Apart from Sambalpur and Boudh, the other five cities which recorded temperature of 40 degrees Celsius or above today are Baripada (40 degrees Celsius), Talcher (40 degrees Celsius), Jharsuguda (40.4 degrees Celsius), Hirakud (40.4 degrees Celsius), and Balangir (40.4 degrees Celsius).

Likewise, Bhubaneswar sizzled at 38.4 degrees Celsius while Cuttack city witnessed a temperature of 37.4 degrees Celsius.
