Odisha Health Minister writes to centre for supply of additional 6 lakh Covishield doses
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das has written a letter to Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan for urgent supply of additional 6 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine to the state for smooth management of the vaccination drive.
“Presently there are 3,38,000 doses available and there will be a shortage of Covishield in the state from Tuesday”, said Health Min.
Since 21st June, Odisha is vaccinating an average of 3 lakh citizens per day and now Odisha has the capacity to vaccinate 3.5 lath citizens per day, he added.
He further requested that vaccine pre-positioning should be done in advance, so as to prevent any event of stock-out in the state and help plan sessions and mobilize beneficiaries in advance.
