World Malaria Day: Odisha Health Department Advises citizens to stay clean

Bhubaneswar: On the eve of World Malaria Day,  Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department (H & FW) congratulated CM Naveen Patnaik for taking active steps in the eradication of the deadly malaria disease.

Odisha has set an example for the entire World on the eradication of Malaria disease, under the present government.The H & FW department advised the citizens of the state to take a pledge on cleanliness of their surrounding and use of mosquito-net for prevention of malaria.

The H & FW department took to social media platform twitter to convey the message. World Malaria Day is celebrated all over the world on April 25 and was initiated by WHO.

Odisha has a long history of dealing with malaria. Malaria used to be one of the major diseases spread across the state. The  climatic conditions of Odisha along with the abundant presence of hilly and forest areas, proves to be conducive factor for the spread of Malaria.
