Kalahandi: Head Clerk working in the office of Block Education Officer in Kalampur of Kalahandi district in Odisha has been apprehended by vigilance.
The head clerk has been identified as Judhistir Harijan.
He was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.13,000 from the Complainant, a Retired Headmaster.
He had demanded the bribe in order to process and help release retirement benefits. The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from exclusive possession of Harijan
Following the trap, the residential house of Harijan at Mathura, Junagarh, Kalahandi and his office room at Kalampur are being searched from Disproportionate Assets (DA) angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance has registered a case. Investigation in progress. Detailed report follows.
