Odisha Govt to take strict action against agitating Teachers

Bhubaneswar: Taking serious note of the on-going agitation by the Odisha school and college teachers association here, the Naveen Government on Thursday ordered action against unauthorised absentee teachers.

The School education department asked the DEOs and BEOs to check attendance of contractual teachers and ensure that unauthorised absentee teachers will not get their salary for the days they remain absent.

It also asked not to renew the annual contract of contractual teachers due in next March who have remained absent without permission and without proper ground.

The teachers have been agitating since August 16 demanding removal of affidavit clause in the newly-announced grant-in-aid system, equal salary for equal work, provision of full aid and several other service conditions.
