Odisha Govt to allocate land for veterinary school in Gajapati  

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) will soon be allocating 63.23 acres of land to Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) for setting up of school of veterinary science and animal husbandry in Gajapati district as per the recommendation of Higher Education Department of State government.

The Higher Education Department, after considering the proposal of CUTM’s president, in a letter stated that the allocation of land will be on payment basis and as per the rule.

According to sources, the university plans to come up with the school of veterinary sciences and animal husbandry to provide education and training to students and farmers which would require about 100 acres of land to set up around 17 laboratories near Paralakhemundi. The University has already established MS Swaminathan School of Agriculture and Bio-Engineering in the district.

According to CUTM’s president Muktikanta Mishra, the new school will be collaborating with an Australian University for carrying out research work.

He also added that the district of Gajapati requires a proper training and education for animal husbandry for improvement of farmers’ livelihood and the new school would put an impact in the sector.
