Odisha Govt Says Containment Zones To Be Created To Prevent Spread Of Covid, Issues Guidelines

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government is on a war-footing to contain the spread of the deadly covid virus in the state. But it is to be noted that, the government is not in favour of lockdowns or night curfew.

Reports said that the government shall declare mini-containment zones in such areas where 15-20 cases are reported.

The government has further taken these following decisions, such as: 

      • Wherever a cluster of cases is detected, mini-containment zones can be set up.
      • Police is to give special attention to enforcing Covid Appropriate Behaviour in public places, especially in markets, religious institutions, wedding venues etc.
      • Urban areas are more vulnerable to rapid spread. Enforcement and surveillance activities are to be keenly monitored here.
      • All precautions are to be observed during the upcoming Holi festival, as per the guidelines issued by SRC.
      • Advisory has been issued by SRC on Social gatherings for marriages, funerals etc. need to follow strict adherence of COVID-19 safety protocol. (200 guests cap in marriages and 50 guests cap in death rituals applicable from March 26)
      • Order no 13365 issued in June 2020 by General Administration and Public Grievance Department (GA&PG dept.) on “Social distancing and Covid appropriate Behavior” is reinforced.
      • In all Urban areas and in areas showing rise of positive cases, vaccination of elderly persons should be stepped up.
      • Most official meetings to be held in virtual mode. In case of physical meetings is necessitated physical distancing to be strictly maintained.
