State-level children’s fest ‘Surabhi’ held in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Children’s day organized a 3-day extravaganza, the State-level ‘Surabhi’ fest which ran from November 14-16.

School students from across the state participated in this event.

The kids participated in a number of cultural programs, traditional dance performances during the fest and got an opportunity to take part in various workshops, competitions and exhibitions on this occasion.

Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik attended ‘Surabhi’ on the closing day of the fest yesterday.

State Minister of School and Mass Education Samir Ranjan Das and Minister of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Ashok Chandra Panda,  were also a part of the program.

All the guests addressed the huge gathering of children and encouraged them. The CM also encouraged the kids to study well for a bright future. He advised them to participate in various extracurricular activities and broaden their horizon.

Naveen Patnaik urged the kids to face challenges of life with a positive attitude. Asked them to attend school regularly and to encourage other kids to do so.

“True education is that which encourages us to face the challenges of life with a positive attitude” the CM said.

The CM also visited the various stalls, planted a sapling and painted a picture. He distributed awards to the meritorious students.

On the closing day, the welcome note was presented by the Principal Secretary of School and Mass Education, Chitra Arramugam and the vote of thanks was given by B.S. Puniya, Director of School and Mass Education.
