Odisha Govt increases Kerosene Quota from 650ml to 2.5ltr

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Tuesday increased the Kerosene Quota of the Bellow Poverty Line (BPL) beneficiaries which they get through public distribution system (PDS) which will be implemented with effect from the month of June this year.

Civil Supplies Minister Surya Narayan Patro, while speaking to the reporters at the State Secretariat today, informed that earlier 650 millilitres (ml) of kerosene was supplied per head to the eligible BPL beneficiary. However, the state government decided to supply 2.5 litres of kerosene to each BPL family per month with effect from June this year.

The Patro also informed that the latest decision of the State Civil Supplies Department would benefit 44 lakh BPL families of the state.
