Odisha Govt includes Mission Shakti,Women & Child Development Dept under ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative

With an aim for effective implementation of various schemes meant for women and children, the Odisha government on Tuesday included the Women & Child Development (WCD) and Mission Shakti department under the ‘Mo Sarkar’ Initiative.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the initiative during a special programme held at Lok Seva Bhawan here. He also interacted with some women through video conferencing.

“The State government has launched several welfare projects under Women & Child Development & Mission Shakti for the women and children and it is impotent to ensure that the beneficiaries get benefit from such projects,” The Chief Minister said.

“Employee of Women & Child Development & Mission Shakti have played a vital role in bringing down the maternal mortality rate (MMR) and Infant mortality rate (IMR) in the State. And because of their dedicated and selfless works the ‘Mamata’ scheme has now become a model for other state in India,” he added.

The Chief Minister also advised the employees and members of WCD and Mission Shakti department to ensure transparency in their work by avoiding all sorts of corrupts practices.

Women and Child Development Minister Tukuni  Sahoo , Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy, 5T Secretary V K Pandian and other senior officials were  present on the occasion.

After launching the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative on Gandhi Jayanti, the state government has decided to cover all the departments under the initiative by March 5.
