Odisha Govt Gives Compulsory Retirement To 6 Officers On Corruption Charges

Bhubaneswar:  The Odisha government ordered compulsory retirement of six State government officials on Wednesday on corruption charges.

The tainted officers include four engineers and two Excise officials. They were given compulsory retirement by the State government.

According to reports, the retired officers are:

Ajit Kumar Debata, Assistant Engineer of Rural Works Division (RWD) Keonjhar. Two vigilance cases are pending on his name over accumulation of disproportionate assets to his known source of income that amounts to more than Rs. 1 crore.

Jitendra Dalai, Assistant Engineer of Quality Control of R&B Department, Cuttack. The Vigilance Department has registered two cases against him for misappropriation of government money.

Bijay Parida, Assistant Engineer of Rural Works Division, Karanjia, Mayurbhanj. Three Vigilance cases are pending in his name for swindling of government money.

Ganeswar Sethi, Assistant Engineer of R&B Division No.II, Bhubaneswar. He is facing six departmental proceedings over misconduct and dereliction  in duties.

Jaydeep Patnaik, the Branch Manager in the Odisha State Beverage Corporation Ltd (OSBCL) Depot against whom action initiated on charges for negligence in duty and unruly behaviour.

Riaz Ahmad Baig, Excise Inspector, Sundergarh against whom 5 departmental proceedings have been initiated for irresponsible and callous behaviour. Riaz has been suspended from his duty five times during his tenure.
