Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has annulled the auction process of 20 mines, whose leases are scheduled to expire on March 31, 2020.
The decision came after a meeting held on November 30 by the Technical Evacuation Committee (TEC) and the High Level Committee (HLC) regarding the auction process.
Meanwhile, the Steel & Mines Department has directed the Director of Mines to issue fresh notification for auction of the iron ore and manganese mines.
The fresh notification for auction of the 20 mines would be issued on December 6, 2019 and sale of tender papers will start from the same day, an official said.
Last date for sale of tender document is December 30, he added.
The government had floated global tenders in three phases in October for auction of the mines under the amended Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation Act, 2015.
