Odisha Government To Include 2.02 Lakh Beneficiaries Under State Food Security Scheme

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to include 202809 beneficiaries under the State Food Security Scheme (SFSC). Beneficiaries under SFSC are entitled to receive 5 kg of rice at Re 1 per kg. 

The Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department has asked the collectors to include eligible beneficiaries under the scheme.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on October 2 last year had launched state government’s own food security scheme for beneficiaries who were left out under the National Food Security Act (NFSA)-2013. The ruling BJD had promised state’s own food security scheme in 2014 election manifesto.
