Odisha Government extends deadline for Aadhar seeding to ration cards

Bhubaneswar: In a sigh of relief for lakhs of ration card holders in the State, Odisha Government today extended the deadline for its Aadhar linking by 15 days.

Today was the last day for seeding Aadhar number with the ration cards.

Informing on the extension date Odisha Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain said, now ration car beneficiaries could seed their Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) number till September 15.

Notably, both Central and State Governments have made Aadhar seeding mandatory for the beneficiaries availing facilities under National Food Security Act and state food security scheme. The initiative has been taken to ensure transparency in the process of Public Distribution Process (PDS).
