Odisha Government extends BSKY to Odias living in other states

Bhubaneswar: By expanding the scope of its flagship healthcare scheme Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), the Odisha Government today extended its benefits to the Odias living outside the state.

Making the announcement after a review meeting, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed that the scheme could now be accessible to the people living outside Odisha and available at all the premium hospitals across the country.

“I’m happy that more than one crore cases have been covered in the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana scheme in the past two months,” said Naveen.

Later adding to the new announcement Odisha Health Minister Pratap Jena said the annual income limit for treatment related to cancer, heart and kidney ailments has also been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 3 lakh. BSKY will now cover treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, CMC in Vellore and Narayan Hrudayalaya in Bengaluru, he added.
