Jagatsinghpur: A girl staged protest in front of her lover’s house demanding justice in Paradeep area in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Nuabali sahi in Gopiakud panchayat.
As per reports the girl reached at house of her boy friend at 4 am in the wee hour of the day today after getting information regarding his engagement with another girl.
The protesting girl belongs to Kabulpur village while her lover is Jiban Maharana of Nuabali sahi.
As claimed by the girl, she and Jiban were in love for years. Later the boy also kept physical relationship with the girl with the pretext of marriage. It was also claimed that Jiban took the girl on many trips.
However, today after getting information about engagement of her lover the girl went to Jiban’s house at 4am early in the morning.
However, Jiban’s brother and mother chased her on the village street while the villagers rescued.
Later, as the mother and grandmother of the girl visited the scene, she again started protesting in front of the boy’s house demanding justice.
Later, Kujang police rescued the victim from the site and called the accused man to the station.
The police have questioned the accused man regarding the matter.
It has been learnt that since the girl hails from lower caste, Jiban’s family members objected the marriage and wanted engagement of the youth with another girl.
Following the incident, Kujang police reached the spot and rescued the girl. Police have also called for the youth to the police station and trying to come out with a solution.
