Odisha girl Arushi Srichandan bags 5 medals in Asian Schools Chess

Bhubaneswar: Arushi Srichandan of Odisha had won five medals in 14th Asian Schools Chess Championship-2018 which concluded at Waskaduwa in Sri Lanka recently.

Arushi pocketed two gold, one silver and two bronze medals in the Under-9 category.

While she won a bronze in rapid individual event, she clinched a gold in team event on first day. Later she won another gold in team event and bronze in individual event earning six points from seven rounds in 5-minute blitz on the concluding day of the competition. Besides, she won a silver medal in the category of under-9 in the event.

Arushi, who has got 1185 elo rating now, is the daughter of Ajit Srichandan and Sipra Srichandan and a class IV student of DAV Public School in Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar.
