Odisha Gets Rs 128.23 Cr From Center As Cyclone Amphan Assistance

Bhubaneswar: In a welcome relief, the Odisha government has received an additional assistance of Rs128.23 crore for damages caused due to cyclone Amphan. 

The Centre has approved the additional assistance of Rs128.23 crore for Odisha under the National Disaster Response Fund

It is noteworthy that earlier in May 2020, Rs 500 crore was released for Odisha, in advance, for immediate relief activities in the State. 

Cyclone Amphan, which crossed Odisha coast and made landfall in the Sunderbans on Wednesday, had caused severe damage to houses, power infrastructure, standing agricultural crops in the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore and parts of northern Mayurbhanj in the state.
