Ganjam: Few days after Sambalpur district Collector Shubham Saxena turned teacher for school students, IAS officer and Ganjam district Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange surprised many by planting paddy saplings during his visit to a village in the district.
Kulange was spotted working with farmers while visiting Bharasa village of Mathura panchayat under Khalikote block to review cultivation work under the National Food Security Act.
The collector rolled up his sleeves and entered the paddy field. He also exchanged tips on better output and other advantages of row plantation techniques.
A video of the collector planting paddy saplings has now gone viral on social media. “It was a surprise for us after the collector joined us in the muddy water. Other officers accompanying him also planted saplings. His humble gesture will always remain in our hearts,” said a farmer of the Bharasa village.
