Odisha Ganjam Admin Imposes Covid-19 Restrictions For Danda Nacha

Berhampur: The Ganjam District administration on Tuesday imposed COVID-19 guidelines for people of Ganjam district just ahead of the Danda Yatra, a religious folk dance festival in Odisha.

As per reports, not more than 200 people can assemble at a place, the guidelines read. Pregnant women and children were directed to stay at home.

They have been directed by the administration to follow the COVID-19 guidelines and the social distancing norms to break the COVID-19 chain.

There will be no cultural programmes and other big celebrations. People or danduas from other states will not be allowed to enter the district. The Danduas will have to prior take permission from tehsildars before their yatra.

Furthermore, no one will be allowed inside temples without masks. Strict action will be taken against anyone found violating the guidelines, Ganjam District Information and Public Relation officer said.
