Odisha: Ganja plants worth Rs 19 crore destroyed in Baliguda

Kandhamal: A joint tem of Odisha police and Excise officials destroyed various Ganja fields worth an estimated cost of over 19 crore rupees in Baliguda area of Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Wednesday.

The officials conducted the exercise at Sindiri, Andari, Maskapadar, Kepa Padar, villages under Baliguda police limits of the district and destroyed fully grown Ganja plants spread across 190 acres of land.

Over 100 police personnel and labourers were engaged in the Ganja plants eradication drive, sources said.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Baliguda Police Station under Section 20 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 in this regard. However, no one was arrested in this connection till the news was filed.
