Bhubaneswar: Odisha Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera will present the interim budget in the State Assembly today. The budget is expected to contain sops for farmers and youths in view of upcoming general elections.
Sources said, the Finance Minister is like to propose a Vote-on-Account worth Rs 56,000 crore in the election year.
As per practice, a Vote-on-Account or approval for essential government spending for a limited period is taken in an election year and a full-fledged budget presented by the new government.
The Budget session, which began on February 4, will end on the 12th of this month.
