Odisha fights corona: Two recovered fire service personnel donate plasma

Cuttack: Two Odisha fire service jawans donated plasma at the plasma bank of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack today. They had recovered from coronavirus recently.

According to sources, several personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Odisha Disaster Rapid action Force (ORDAF) and Odisha fire services had been to West Bengal for rescue operations after Cyclone ‘Amphan’. Following which 160 of them were infected with the deadly virus and recovered after the treatment.

While undergoing treatment, all of them were enthusiastic to donate plasma, added the source.

Thus, all the cured jawans were kept under observation in the hospital in order to identify the persons among them who can donate plasma on the basis of the health condition.

Early in the day, after undergoing several tests, two servicemen successfully donated their plasma today for the treatment of other Covid-19 patients in the State.

On the other hand, earlier some cured NDRF jawans were also seen donating plasma for treatment of coronavirus patients in Odisha.

This action of the corona frontline fighters who have recovered from the disease and came forward to donate their plasma to serve general people, has been appreciated by many including Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
