Odisha: Fake edible oil factory busted in Cuttack, One arrested

Cuttack: The Cuttack Sadar Police busted a duplicate edible oil manufacturing factory at Bamphakuda area of Phulnakhara in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Wednesday.

The owner of the factory, identified as Jagu Sahu, has been arrested in this connection.

The police seized around 30,000 litres of edible oil printed with labels of various brands, three oil manufacturing machines, several stickers, containers etc. from the unit.

As many as four numbers of oil-laden trucks, which were parked to transport the fake edible oil, have also been seized from the spot.

Fake edible oil factory busted in Cuttack

The duplicate oils seized from the factory were packaged in tins of various cooking oil brands like Khusi Gold, Shaffola etc. in the name of mustard as well as refined oil.

The accused has been supplying the spurious oil to different grocery wholesalers and retailers in the city and outside, police said.
