Odisha Elections: Polling Delayed In Over 80 Booth Due To EVM Glitch

Bhubaneswar: Polling was delayed in over 80 booths under 6 Lok Sabha Constituencies of the state, during the fourth phase elections on Monday because of faulty Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

According to reports, the polling was delayed in 6 booths in Balasore, 22 booths in Bhadrak, 23 booths in Jagatsinghpur, 7 booths in Jajpur, 10 booths in Kendrapara, and 15 booths in Mayurbhanj district.

In Balasore, polling was delayed at Ulumara Panchayat, Jaleswar (5), Natakata Panchayat (203), Jaleswar (32), Bhogarai (35) and Baliapal (99 and 143) booths.

In Bhadrak, polling was delayed at Bhadrak (185), Bhandaripokhari (71,183, 198, 220), Dhamnagar (222,244,245, 54), Soro (2, 46, 208), Simulia (119, 109, 110), Basudevpur (50, 69, 114, 116) and Chandbali (216, 14 and 239) booths.

In Jagatsinghpur, the polling was delayed at Jagasinghpur (135), Bakharabad in Balikuda-Erasama (138), Kakatpur (219 and 268), Nimapara (42 and 66), Paradeep (214) and Niali (9). Besides, polling was also delayed in 15 booths in Kujang block.

In Jajpur, faulty EVMs delayed polling at Dharmasala (115), Bari (110), Jajpur-96, Sukinda (180, 181, 182) and Korei (46) booths.

In Kendrapara, the booths where polling was delayed are Kendrapara (139, 140, 141), Rajnagar (226, 28), Aul (226, 268), Mahanga (213) and Salepur (53, 42).

Lastly, faulty EMVs delayed polls in the Baripada (34, 38), Bangiriposi ( 33), Badasahi (102, 22), Rairangpur (142, 143, 197), Saraskana (39, 60), Udala (24, 60, 55, 181) and Jashipur (200) booths of Mayurbhanj district.
