Odisha Elections 2019, 4th phase: 66 per cent polling recorded till 5 pm

Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded 66 per cent polling till 5 PM on Monday in the fourth phase of elections for six Lok Sabha constituencies and 41 Assembly segments in the state, informed CEO Surendra Kumar little while ago.

Briefing the press, Kumar said, Mayurbhanj Lok Sabha constituency recorded highest 66 per cent voting, while Jajpur and Kendrapara recorded 65 per cent each, Balasore 64 per cent, Jagatsinghpur 64 per cent.

As many as 52 candidates are in the fray for the six Parliamentary constituencies, while 336 candidates are fighting for assembly seats.

The prominent candidates in the fray in this phase include Rajya Sabha MP Anubhav Mohanty and former Lok Sabha MP Baijayant Panda from Kendrapara.

Polling remained peaceful in this phase in the state, except minor incidents in some of the places.
