Odisha Education Minister stops salary of 8 teachers for dereliction of duty: Watch

Minister Samir Das intercepted two teachers near Pipili Toll Gate at 10.20 am and asked why they were so late for school

Puri: Odisha Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das is in action mode. He is in discussion today after he interacted with two teachers on the road and wanted to know why they were late for school.

As per reports, Odisha Education Minister Samir Das was on a visit to Nimapada of Puri district while he witnessed two lady teachers at 10.20 am at the Pipili Toll gate. They were going in a two wheeler. He stopped and asked them why they were late for school. However, the two teachers could not give any satisfactory answer.

Later, the minister made a surprise visit to the Jagannathpur UP School on the Pipili Nimapada road. In the school the minister witnessed students were not in their respective class rooms at 10.23 am and they were roaming in the school premises. Even reportedly, the teachers were seen gossiping in the office while the head master was setting out with his vehicle for some work.

The minister also verified the documents of the school and reportedly found irregularity. He then called the DEO and BEO over phone and asked to issue show cause notice to 8 teachers of the school. He also issued directive to stop their salary till further order.
