Nuapada: Businessman from Odisha arrested on charges of smuggling diamonds by Chhattisgarh police.
It was alleged that as many as 170 pieces of diamonds were seized from his possession.
The merchant has been identified as Nutan Patel belonging to Godal village. He was caught red-handed by Chhattisgarh police.
The police acted on a tip-off and intercepted him while he was near Kaitapada and recovered the diamonds from his possession.
The police said the estimated cost of the diamonds would be around 25 lakh.
