Odisha: DGP reviews 3-Tier Panchayat Polls preparedness

Cuttack: Odisha DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal on Tuesday reviewed the 3-Tier Panchayati Raj General Elections, 2022 preparedness with senior Police officials of the State.

All District Superintendents of Police, DCP Cuttack, DCP Bhubaneswar, and all range DIGs and IGs of Police took part in the review metting. ADGP, CID-CB, Odisha, Cuttack, Additional DGP (Law & Order), IG of Police, CID-CB, Odisha, Cuttack IGP (Head Quarters), IGP (Prov.), IGP (CR) and DIGP (STF) also attended the meeting through VC.

In the meeting the DGP emphasized on the free, fair transparent, impartial and incident free elections. he stressed on  strict enforcement of mode code of conduct and adherence to the SEC guidelines and Covid Protocols during election process.

The DGP further emphasized on intensifying prophylactic measures including bounding down of persons under sections 110/ 107 Cr.P.C, seizure of illegal arms, seizure of illicit liquor and execution of NBWs.

Some other issues, such as disposal of seized drugs, disposal of Malkhana items, Narcotics drugs enforcement, CCTV installation at Police Stations and Public Grievance Redressal were also discussed in the meeting.
