Bhubaneswar: Odisha DGP Dr. RP Sharma on Tuesday ordered his team to begin a month-long ‘Special Drive’ to arrest all ‘Wanted Criminals’ of the state.
Sharma, during a video conference with the district SPs, Range IGs and DIGs, asked the senior police officers to spruce up their intelligence network and take steps to avoid any law and order situations, which are likely to occur.
The top cop of the state asked them to take stringent action against all organised criminals, transport mafia, drug peddlers and illegal firearm traders. He also laid emphasis on the execution of Non-Bailable Warrants (NBW) and expediting closure of cases involving anti-socials.
Besides, he urged the cops to prepare of a dossier of criminals across the state and book all of them under (preventive) Sections 107 and 110 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
Sharma further said that the Revenue and other Department officials should be offered all assistance to check the activities of unscrupulous stone quarry operators.
