Odisha: Deputy Ranger from Kalahandi district in Vigilance net

Bhawanipatna: Tightening the noose around the neck of corrupt officials Odisha Vigilance on Thursday intercepted a Deputy Ranger in Kalahandi district and seized Rs 1.5 lakh from him for which he could not account for satisfactorily.

As per reports, today i.e. on 23.12.2021 Nrutyaraj Majhi, Deputy Ranger, under Office of the DFO, North Division,  Bhawanipatna, Dist- Kalahandi was intercepted by a team of Odisha Vigilance  in the afternoon   near Laxmipur on  Bhawanipatna to Laxmipur road while   he was returning  home from duty carrying suspected ill-gotten cash of Rs 1, 50, 000/-  inside a plastic carry bag  with his  Hero Honda CD 100 motor cycle,  which he couldn’t account for satisfactorily. The said cash has been recovered from Majhi and seized.

Following interception, search has been launched on properties of Majhi at Laxmipur under Bhawanipatna Sadar, Dist- Kalahandi. Investigation is in progress against Majhi.
