Odisha: Deadline Ends Today, CESU In Action Mode From Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The deadline given by the power supply company of Odisha, CESU is slated to end today, from tomorrow onward action shall be taken on erring customers.

All the customers of CESU who have not paid their bills or have bending amounts shall face power outage. The arrangements for disconnecting electricity supply has been completed by the organization.

413 squads have been formed to carry out the operation. It is noteworthy that the power supply to BPL homes shall not cut in the first phase.

The target consumers will be business organizations, private customers who consume huge amount of electricity and 25,000 customers who have huge amount of pending bills.

11,397 villages have been chosen in the first phase for disrupting power. Within the past one month, 1,10,000 subscribers have paid up pending amounts totaling up to almost 21 Crore.

8,95,459 had received notice relating to pending bills. 1494 Crore worth bills is still pending. Electricity supply of consumers who pay up 30 percent of the pending bills by 16th of January 2020 shall not be disconnected.
