Keonjhar: The dead body of a woman who was missing for few days has been recovered from Kara Khendra forest under Barbil police station of Keonjhar district in Odisha today.
The victim has been identified as Reena Mahakud and was a resident of Nalda area of Barbil.
According to reports, Reena, a daily labourer, did not return home after work on July 18. Her family members searched her for few days but all was in vain. On July 20, the family lodged a missing complaint at Barbil police station.
A day after the family registered the missing complaint, Reena’s body was found in the Kara Khendra forest by some passerby. On being informed, the police rushed the spot, seized the body and sent it for an autopsy.
The cops have suspected that the victim was raped and then murdered. One accused, Ramchandra Naik, has been detained and is being questioned by police.
