Berhampur: In a tragic incident, a man and his wife killed himself by consuming poison at their residence in Podamari village under Parpur police limits of Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Santosh Gouda and wife Nayani Gouda of Bhanja Sahi.
Sources say, neighbours spotted the door closed and they knocked, when the couple did not the open their house. Later, they broke open the main door and found the bodies of the victims. They immediately informed the Sarpanch of the village and then the police.
On being informed, the police reached the spot and recovered the bodies. Santosh had died in the house, while Nayani was immediately admitted to Digapahandi medical where the doctors declared her dead.
Later, IIC Sabysachi Malla along with his team sent their bodies for post mortem and have started a probe into the matter.
The police suspected they might have consumed poison due to some family fued.
