Odisha Council of Ministers approve supplementary budget of Rs 12,768

Bhubaneswar: A supplementary budget of Rs 12,768 for the financial year 2018-19 has been approved in a meeting of the State Council of Ministers today with an emphasis given on completion of the unfinished projects.

The meeting which was held at the Odisha Secretariate this morning and chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik gave its nod to the budget which also included fund allocation for various new Central and State schemes.

The supplementary budget will be placed in the Assembly on the opening day of Monsoon Session on September 4 which is a deviation from the prevailing practice in the House. The supplementary budget usually gets tabled in the Assembly during the Winter Session as per the normal practice.

The Monsoon Session of the Odisha Assembly will commence from September 4. The 11-day session will continue till September 20.

The State Government has planned to introduce and pass several legislations during the monsoon session of the Assembly.
