Keonjhar: Odisha Police arrested a wanted robber after a fire exchange in Masani Bila forest near Ghatagaon in the district on Monday. However, his two accomplices managed to escape from the spot.
The robber, identified as Govind Giri, was admitted to a local government hospital as he sustained an injury on his leg during the fire exchange.
Giri was allegedly involved in numerous cases of robbery and other criminal activities. As many as 15 complaints have been lodged against him in different police stations in the region.
Police have seized a country-made gun, bullet, kukri knife, mobile phone and bike from Giri’s possession.
Meanwhile, Ghatagaon Police have launched man-haunt to nab the aides of Giri.
