Odisha continues to reel under intense cold, snowfall at a few places

Bhubaneswar: Kandhamal and Sundergarh district witnessed snowfall for the second consecutive day today, as temperature plummeted below 8 degree Celsius in at least 8 cities across the state, throwing life out of gear.

As per the IMD sources, snowfall reports were received from places like Daringbadi in Phulbani along with Koida and Tensa areas in Sundergarh districts.

With places like Phulbani-3, Koraput-4.8, Titlagarh-5, Sonepur-5.8, Angul-5.6, Bhawanipatna-6, Keonjhar-6.6, Jharsuguda-6.8 degree Celsius shivered in intense cold, people stopped venturing out of home in till late in the morning and preferred to bask near the bonfire.

Similarly, normal life was also affected badly in Koraput -4.8, Bhawanipatna-6, Titlagarh-6.5, Keonjhar-6.6, Jharsuguda-6.8, Sambalpur-7.5 and Bhubaneswar-9.5 degree Celsius of temperatures.

Meanwhile, the Weatherman has predicted the cold wave to continue in Odisha till January 3 with the minimum temperature remaining 3 to 4 degree below the normal temperature.
