Odisha: Container Of Stranded Malaysian Cargo Topples

Puri: The container of the Malaysian cargo ship which was veered off its sea route towards the coast at Rajhans near Chilika Lake on August 7 reportedly toppled on Tuesday evening.

Officials of Puri district administration, however, said that the engine of the ship was safe and no leakage of fuel has been reported.

Officials also said that the process of removal of oil from the ship will begin from Wednesday and the process is likely to be completed in a couple of days. As per reports, the ship has a stock of 30000 litres of diesel, 1000 litres of lubricant and 200 litres of hydraulic oil.

The ship was carrying a consignment of iron ore and other minerals from Malaysia to Bangladesh and was heading to Vishakhapatnam when it was trapped in the storm.
