Odisha: College students walk 30 km to convey grievance to District Collector

Kendrapare: A group of students including girl students of Sri Sri Bayababa College in Mahakalapara on Thursday walked around 30 km to meet the District Collector Samrath Verma here as to convey their grievances.

Speaking to Kalinga TV, the students said that they face several problems due to the absence of basic infrastructure in the college premises.

“There is no compound wall in our college for which outsiders and cattle are easily entering the campus, disturbing the study environment,” said Biswajit Parida, a final year student of the college.

“Our college doesn’t have a hostel for which students coming from distance area, particularly girl students are facing lots of difficulties to attend class regularly,” he noted.

Another student said, there is no drinking water facility, cycle stand, adequate urinals in the college premises.

The students submitted a charter of demands to the collector and requested him to look into the matter.
