Rourkela: In an unfortunate incident, a Plus Three final year student died after drowning in Brahmani river near Deogaon village in Sundargarh district on Sunday.
The deceased student has been identified as Chandan Das of Deogaon village. The 20-year-old was the student of Gandhi College.
According to sources, Chandan had gone to the river along with his father to take bath this afternoon. However, accidentally he slipped into the deep water and drowned. Chandan’s father tried to save him, but in vain.
Raghunathapalli police, after getting information about the incident, arrived at the spot and recovered the body.
Later, Chandan’s mortal remains were sent to the local hospital for postmortem.
