Odisha CM wishes early recovery for Rangabati song’s lyricist Padma Shri Mitrabhanu Gountia
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday wished early recovery for Padma Shri Mitrabhanu Gountia, the lyricist of cult Sambalpuri song ‘Rangabati’. Gountia has been admitted to VIMSAR hospital in Burla of Sambalpur for treatment.
I came to know about the illness of Padma Shri Mitrabhanu Gountia, the lyricist of famous Sambalpuri song ‘Rangabati’. I wish early recovery and good health to him, wrote the CM on his Twitter handle in Odia.

As per reports, Mitrabhanu Gountia was admitted to the Burla hospital following complain of chest pain. His health condition is stable. A team of doctors are monitoring his health conditions.
Gountia has written many hit songs most of which are based on the lifestyle of ordinary men, daily chores and social traditions as well as customs. In year 2020 he was bestowed with the Padma Shri honour.
