Odisha CM to visit Puri today to inaugurate Srimandir’s Heritage Corridor

Puri: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will visit the holy city of Puri for the inauguration of the Heritage Corridor Project (Parikrama Prakalpa) around the Jagannath Temple.

Barricading has been done on both sides of the roads in the Grand Road (i.e. Badadanda) to help in maintaining decorum.

Ahead of Chief Minister’s visit to Puri, Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra and Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian visited Puri to check the arrangements.

The Chief administrator of SJTA Krishan Kumar and Puri Collector Samarth Verma were also present on this occasion.

It is to be noted that a three-day yagna has been started in Puri to mark the commencement of ‘Bhumi Pujan’ (ground breaking ceremony) for the heritage corridor project of the temple.

The project is being implemented within a 75-metre radius of the Meghanada Pacheri of the temple. The state government has earmarked Rs 800 crore for the project.

As per religious tradition, Gajapati King Dibyasingh Deb, the foremost servitor of the temple, entrusted five ‘shrotriya’ Brahmins the responsibility to perform the three-day yagna.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to perform Purna Ahuti of the yagna on November 24.

Swami Nischalananda Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Puri Gobardhan Peeth will be present on the occasion.

I’d suggest, take the CM on a two-wheeler and giving him a ride through the streets of BBSR and Puri. I bet he will fall off the bike with such bumpy roads.
