Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to lay foundation stone of Srimandir’s heritage corridor

Puri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will lay the foundation stone of Srimandir Heritage Corridor’s ‘Parikrama Marg’ in Puri on November 24. Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) summoned a meeting of senior officials and servitors to sketch the plan and programme of the events scheduled between November 22 to 25.

Chief Administrator of SJTA, Dr Krishan Kumar has said that the plans and proposals for the grand events towards the end of November were discussed at the meeting. He also said that a there will a Maha Yagyan held to mark the commencement of the landmark project.”

It is pertinent to mention that the Puri district administration had carried out extensive eviction drive in the vicinity of the 12th-century shrine to make way for the Heritage Corridor following the Odisha Cabinet’s resolution for the construction of the showpiece developmental project.

Earlier in February, the previous managing committee had given a green signal to the draft architectural plan and design of the Sri Jagannath temple heritage corridor project.
