Odisha CM sanctions Ex-Gratia to kin of journalist late Karunakar Sahu who succumbed to COVID19

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs 15 lakh to the families of journalist Karunakar Sahoo who succumbed of COVID-19 infection.

The journalist from Seragada in Ganjam district succumbed to the disease in the month of April, He was working in Anupam Bharat.

In April, Odisha government had announced an ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh for families of all frontline workers like doctors and other health care professionals and later, promised a compensation of Rs 15 lakh to the next of kin of journalists who succumb to the infection.
