Odisha CM presents Police Medals

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday presented police medals to 26 Odisha police officials on the occasion of the 72nd Independence Day.

Patnaik presented the police medals, which were announced on the Republic Day, during a state-level event here today.

Among the 26 awardees, there were officials from Fire Services, Prisons, Home Guards and Civil Defence departments, for their bravery, disciple and contribution to service.

The Chief Minister awarded 13 police officers with the President’s Police Medal for their meritorious, distinguished service and gallantry.

Likewise, he felicitated seven personnel from the Fire services department with President’s medal for distinguished services.

He also conferred the President’s Sanskar Seva Padak on two officials from the Prisons department.

Similarly, four Home Guard and Civil Defence officials were honoured with President’s medal.

During the medal presentation ceremony, the CM also awarded Jeevan Raksha Padak to Pankaj Mahanta and Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak to Mamata Dalei for their exemplary courage.
