Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to file nominations today

Bhubaneswar: BJD supremo and four-time Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to file nominations for upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha Elections on Wednesday.

CM Naveen Patnaik will file nomination for Hinjili or Hinjilicut at Chhatrapur Sub-Collector’s office today. He is scheduled to reach
Taratarini Temple, Berhampur at 9.30 am. After the darshan, he will go ahead with the filing of nominations.

More than twenty IICs have been assigned for providing security during the CM’s visit. Two additional SP have also been assigned for security overview. For additional security, the Collector’s office has been barricaded, informed Ganjam SP Brijesh Rai.

Notably, the honourable Chief Minister had announced that he will fight the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from two constituencies-Ganjam’s Hinjilicut and Bargarh’s Bijepur. While Hinjilicut has been Patnaik’s stronghold, after winning all four times he has contested elections, he will debut in Western Odisha from Bijepur. Odisha will have elections in four phases; Hinjili will have it in first phase whereas Bijepur will have elections in second phase.
